Gearing up for Halloween - Things to do this weekend

It is going to be another weekend filled with fun activities for the whole family.  Get out there and have a good time!

Friday

If you like story telling around the bonfire then join in the fun at Warwick County Park from 6-9pm.

Miss Maggie, a children’s performer who combines singing, guitar, percussion, poems and stories to entertain and teach children of all ages, will be on stage from 6:30 - 7:30pm.

From 8:00 - 9:00pm, Richard Pawling’s History Alive will share professional, historically accurate local iron making and canal stories. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the forests within Warwick Park provided much of the raw timber used to make charcoal for the region’s iron furnaces and forges. Remains of the iron industry can still be seen in the park at the various charcoal hearths and old cart paths.

The Friends of Warwick Park will have a concession stand and offer hayrides through the park.

Saturday

Head down to West Goshen Park at 7:30pm for the fall movie showing of the week Mirror-Mirror.

The Downingtown Friends Meeting will hold its annual Friends Fall Festival from 9am-4pm.  As one of the largest fall festivals in the region, our Friends Fall Festival offers families a day of wholesome fun and value. A special supervised area includes children’s crafts and games. There’s also a hay wagon ride and exceptional face painting for both kids and adults.

Make a Ghoul Bus at the Lowe’s Build and Grow.  They do recommend reservations so go online and sign up.

The 15th Annual RotorFest at the American Helicopter Museum is being held this weekend from 10am-4:30pm.

Sunday

The 10th Annual West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-off from 12-3pm

Sample chile from over 60 teams and take the kids to the new play place hosted by Wells Fargo.
